Dear colleagues, present and former employees of Port of Varna EAD

On the 18th of May, Port of Varna celebrates the 108th Anniversary of the Port’s official inauguration.  The same day in 1906 marked the beginning of modern development of Varna Port.  In the course of time, the Port has become not only a national leader in the port business and one of the motors of national economy, but also has proved its position on the international level.

Today, Port of Varna EAD continues to provide a guaranteed quality of service, transparency and loyalty to clients, employees and suppliers which makes the Port a preferred partner in business and attractive place for ambitious specialists to make their careers.  The company is now a key factor for developing of Bulgaria’s Sea Capital City, the region and the country, and this would have been impossible without the people who have left their names in the Port’s history since its founding – the port workers, administration and management.  Let us honour the memory of those who are not longer with us.

I would like to congratulate all present port team and our former colleagues.  Without your daily work and effort, today’s prosperity of Port of Varna EAD would not have been accomplished.  With all my heart, I wish good health, happiness and good luck to all of you and your families!

Port of Varna – the marine window to the world, Stilian Grebenicharski

Treasuring up the unique emotions during the most significant and prestigious marine events hosted by Port of Varna – Historical Seas Tall Ships Regatta in 2010 and SCF Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta in 2014

Port of Varna EAD organizes a Tall Ships Regatta Photo Contest to celebrate its 108th anniversary within the Europe’s Day of the Sea 2014 (18 – 20 May) with the support of Photoplace Ltd.

18 May – 18 June 2014: Contest period – publishing and voting for photographs on the platform Photo Contest at: www.facebook.com/PhotoplaceBAPHA/app 

19 June – 20 July 2014:

Examination of photographs, the best liked 250 photos in the Facebook will be appraised by the Jury:

1. Mrs. Ruzha Damyanova, Manager of Public Procurements and EU Programmes Department at Port of Varna EAD

2. Mr. Plamen Mihailov, Photoplace Ltd. www.photoplace.info

3. Mr. Yulian Nedev, Protey Studio  www.studioprotey.com

The Jury shall reserve its right to decide at its own discretion which of the photographs should be allowed at the contest without providing arguments or answering to protests or objections.

23 June 2014: Awarding of the three best photographs (selected by the Jury) and giving of the Audience’s Award (the best liked photo in the Facebook) by the Executive Director of Port of Varna EAD.  The awards shall take form of vouchers for purchasing of photographic equipment to the value of:

First Award – Voucher for 1500 Levs

Second Award – Voucher for 800 Levs

Third Award – Voucher for 500 Levs

Audience’s Award – Voucher for 200 Levs (the best liked photo in the Facebook)

The authors of photographs in the final selection of the Jury will be given diplomas and personal copies of the Tall Ships Regatta Catalogue by Port of Varna EAD and will have the right to show their photos at the exhibition which will be opened and presented during the Week of the Sea (4 – 11 August 2014).

Contest Rules

1. All those who wish can take part via the platform “Photo Contest” of Photoplace, and can publish no more than 4 photographs in JPG format, size of min 950 picsels of the long side.  The contest organizers shall not be responsible if any photo cannot be published at the contest for whatever technical reason.

2. The contest photos should have been taken during either the Historical Seas Tall Ships Regatta in 2010 or the SCF Black Sea Tall Ships Regatta in 2014.

3. Photographs will be allowed at the contest only if consistent with the subject and shall not contain violence or pornography or discrimination on the basis of race, politics, religion or discrimination of any other kind (sex, age, etc.)  Photos will not be allowed at the contest if distributed for voting via other platforms – social network games, applications, vote sharing groups etc.

4. Each photo which has been successfully registered shall be sent by e-mail at: pmihaylov@gmail.com in JPG or TIFF format with size of min 30cm of the shorter side, at 300 dpi, with a view to be included in a catalogue and exhibition “Tall Ships Regatta”.  Photos should not contain company logo or a name or any inscriptions over the image.

5. The deadline for receiving of photos is 18 June 2014, 23.59 hrs.

6. By sending of photos to the platform, any contestant agrees with the terms and conditions of the contest, the Contest Rules and the General Conditions of the organizers.

General Conditions

1. Every contestant shall declare that he/she is the sole owner of the copyrights on the works to take part in the contest.

2. The contestants receiving the most of the Jury’s votes shall provide free of charge to Port of Varna EAD the right to use the works selected for the Tall Ships Regatta Photo Exhibition only for the purposes of:

2.1     Organizing of the exhibition, including for publications in the press/electronic media covering the contest and/or exhibition for unlimited period.

2.2     Publishing in the websites of Port of Varna EAD and Photoplace Ltd. to promote the contest and photo exhibition for unlimited period.

2.3     Adding in the archives of the contest, as well as for issuing of a catalogue of the exhibition for unlimited period.

These Terms and Conditions of the Contest, the Contest Rules and the General Conditions were updated on 2 June 2014.
