Port of Varna takes part in the “Pupils’ Internships” project, BG051PO001-3.3.07-0001 of the Ministry of Education and Science funded under the “Human Resources Development” OP, co-financed by the European Social Fund. The project is aiming at improving the quality of vocational education and training and facilitating the access to practical training of the system of vocational education and training on national level by means of:

 More and better opportunities for practice in a real working environment.

 Active involvement of the business in drawing up programs for practice training in certain professions.

Improving the relationship between the results from vocational education & training and the demands of a changing labout market.

Promoting the mobility of citizens and facilitating the communication between employers and job seekers and the training institutions.

Facilitating the transition from school to the labour market or higher education by improving the quality of vocational education & training.

Enhancing the qualification of trainers within the vocational education & training system with specific competence to organize practice training in a real working environment, in operating partnership with partner employers.

The first pupils wishing to take part in this project are in the 10th grade of the specialty “Ports and Fleet Operations” at Varna Maritime High School “St. Nickolas”, and the practice training for 2013/2014 academic year will be conducted in real operational conditions at Port of Varna.
